Arts Center Design Workshop (In-Person Event)

  • 325 15th Street San Diego, CA, 92101 United States (map)

Space 4 Art's year-long convenings will gather together artists, students, arts leaders, policymakers, and other stakeholders to assess community needs and build a coalition to design a community-based, multidisciplinary Arts Center for the San Diego-Tijuana region. The community is invited to share input in the design process.

What features are needed to support local artists, musicians, dancers, writers, and thespians in a large-scale, community-based Arts Center? This is your chance to share ideas about what our arts community needs most.

To highlight the widespread “affordable space challenge” facing the local arts community, our first design workshop will be held in an event space that once housed Space 4 Art’s galleries, offices, and nine artist studios— before we lost half our space to gentrification in 2017.
